Kings Park Care Home invites local community to ‘A Time to Remember’ Remembrance event

Kings Park Care Home in Ferndown is inviting local residents, veterans and their families to come together for a special afternoon of remembrance, reflection and fellowship on Monday 9 November.

Taking place from 3pm to 5pm at Kings Park Care Home, the event, A Time to Remember, will be held in the run-up to Remembrance Day and will honour those who have served, remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and recognise the continuing contribution of the Armed Forces community.

The afternoon will include a Remembrance address, refreshments and an opportunity to connect with fellow veterans and members of the local community. RAF Air Cadets will also be attending, bringing together generations of the Armed Forces community in a shared spirit of respect and remembrance.

The occasion will also mark the launch of Kings Park Veterans’ Club – A Time to Remember, a new initiative designed to provide a welcoming place for veterans, serving personnel, reservists and their families to meet, share experiences and stories, build friendships and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from a shared connection to military service.

The club will continue to meet on the second Thursday of each month, from 2.30pm to 4pm, offering a relaxed and friendly setting where people can enjoy a cuppa, talk with others who understand their experiences and feel part of a community.

Kings Park Care Home hopes the event will encourage local veterans and their families to come forward, make new connections and discover the support and companionship available within their local community.

Everyone is welcome, whether they have a direct connection to the Armed Forces or simply wish to join Kings Park in remembering and honouring those who have served.
